I am a woman about to turn 50. I am a mum of two amazing children, now adults (of course I am biased).
I qualified as a social worker in 1987 and worked in this area for 6 years before moving to Perth from NSW with my husband and young baby. Once in Perth I achieved my Aromatherapy Diploma in 1994, then Diploma of Health Science (Massage) in 1998.
I worked in the complimentary health field in Perth and Southern Cross for 20 years. My clinic work included Swedish, Remedial and Deep tissue massage, Trigger Point therapy, Myofacial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, Pregnancy massage, Sports massage, TMJ Release, Hot Stone Massage, Aromatherapy treatments/massages, Aromatherapy facials. I also ran Aromatherapy courses and sold Essential Oils and products.
Upon moving back to Perth, after 5 years in Southern Cross in 2005, my working focus was women predominantly. I focused on the mind, body and spirit of my clients, helping to address any imbalances of these in their life.
Continuing this passion, I started holding weekend women’s retreats in 2010 in the Perth area. Gathering women together is a very empowering and transformative experience.
In 2012 I made the decision to retire from clinical work due to injuries. I returned to work as a social worker with an organisiation I had volunteered with for many years, Personal Advocacy Service.
Although I have given up my practice I continue to run retreats and am now also completing the Imagine a Woman certified coach course, the first Aussie to do this. Women’s empowerment will always be my passion.
